The Organic Farm of Portugal Cove, owned and operated by Mike & Melba Rabinowitz, was awarded the Business or Industry Leader award of the 21st Annual Newfoundland & Labrador Environmental Awards (organized by Dept. of Env. & Conservation, Multi-Materials Stewardship Board, and the NL Women’s Institutes).
The award, presented by Honourable Charlene Johnson, Min. of Environment & Conservation, was presented May 31st, 2010 – an award given for outstanding efforts and contributions to sustaining, protecting and enhanacing the province’s environment. Last fall (2009), the Rabinowitzs’ also received recognition for their farm in the growing area of agritourism.
